Tech Tip: How to access the search history for the Find in method
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 20 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: July 31, 2025

In the code editor, the “Find in method” feature can be opened by clicking the magnifying glass icon in the toolbar, or pressing the keyboard shortcut command+F (Ctrl+F for Windows). When it is opened, if there have been any previous Find entries, the search history can be accessed by clicking the solid down arrow to the right of the search field.

This will bring up the most recent searches in a pop-up list. Click on any item to automatically re-do the Find in method for that particular text. Note that the search history persists across different applications when using the same 4D build.
