Tech Tip: Using 4D Insider remotely
PRODUCT: 4D Insider | VERSION: 6.5 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: January 5, 2001

With 4D Insider, you are able to examine a 4D Server database that is running over the network. This is convenient for some 4D developers who are working from a different location. It uses the same type of connection to 4D Server as 4D Client does. You will need to have at least one of the following network protocols installed: AppleTalk, TCP/IP or IPX (Windows only) to make a connection to the 4D Server.
To open a database on 4D Server:

1. Choose 'Open on 4D Server' from the File menu. On the Macintosh, choose 'Open' then the 'on 4D Server' submenu item. The Network Components open connection dialog box appears.
2. Select the server database that you want to connect to and click OK.
