Tech Tip: Prematurely copying methods between database structures using 4D Insider
PRODUCT: 4D Insider | VERSION: | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: January 12, 2001

If you plan to copy a method from DatabaseA to DatabaseB without its' associated table, the method will not copy over correctly unless you choose the "Use another object". If you are unfamiliar with how to choose this option, please refer to tech tip, "Copying methods between database structures using 4D Insider". However, if you have already copied the method without choosing the "Use another object" option, you can overwrite the copied method by going to the File menu of 4D Insider and select "Moving..." under the Preferences option. Here you will need to change the default setting of "Do not copy" to "Replace" on the "If a method with the same name already exists" setting. Once this setting has been changed, and the "Use another object" has been selected, then the method from DatabaseA will copy over correctly to DatabaseB.
