4D Write 2004 does not allow the saving of a template in an external window. For instance, if you execute the following:

wrWind:=Open external window (50; 50; 350; 450; 8; "Letter Writing"; "_4D WRITE")

4D Write will launch in its own window. Within this external window you can open a 4D Write template, but you will not be able to save a template. The Save As Template item from the File menu is disabled. In order to save your work document as a template, the 4D Write area must be placed within a form.
