Tech Tip: Searching Items that are in the Trash
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 2004 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: October 30, 2006

4D 2004 now has a "trash" for deleted items. When you delete a form or method, they are placed in the trash. Therefore, if you decide to retrieve an object from the trash you can restore it. This is similar to your operating system's trash.

Because your objects are still retrievable in the trash, 4D's search mechanism is still able to find objects that are currently there. For instance, if you deleted a method named "Example" that contains the variable "var1", executing a search for this variable will display a window with objects containing that string. The method Example will be displayed as :
(Example)

The parantheses signifies that the object is in the trash.
