4Dv15R4 introduces a number of new features that have been added and rely on the new architechture developed. As such there is a compatibility option in the database settings to use the new acrhitecture or not. For databases created with 4Dv15R4 and above this setting is checked by default using the new architecture, while converted databases do not for compatibility reasons.
