Tech Tip 76775 is very useful at converting PICT format images to PNG but it only works with Library Pictures and does not convert Static Pictures. This can be problematic if your static pictures still contain PICT format images.

One way to address this is to convert the Static Pictures to Library Pictures first, then run the code from Tech Tip 76775 afterwards.

To convert a static picture to a library picture:

1. Select the static picture on the form and display the property list


2. From the property list, change the type from "Static Picture" to "Library Picture"
   

Changing the Type to "Library Picture" will create the item inside of the Picture Library while also leaving the picture on the form at its current coordinates.

After performing this action, you could run code to convert PICT images to PNG images.
