Tech Tip: How to Fix Activate Licenses Permissions Error
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 15.1 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: April 13, 2016

Sometimes when activating licenese for 4D the process may fail stating that there was an error caused by permissions, such as an "insufficient access priviledges for operation" error.

A simple way to fix this is to delete and let 4D recreate the license folder, which will let it apply the needed permissions for it to make modifications.

To let 4D Recreate the Licenses Folder a folder/file of the same name must not exist in the directory.
Three ways to do this is to:

    -Delete The Folder
    -Relocate the Folder
    -Rename the folder

With the later two recomended if license files would like to be maintained.

Then perform the activation process in which no error should occur and 4D will recreate the license folder with proper permissions.

Lastly if there were license files that wanted to be kept they can be moved back from the old folder.
