Tech Note: 4D Splash Screen

The 4D Splash Screen tech note introduces a 4D component database that can be used to insert a custom splash screen into any of your databases. This enables you to have one component database that acts as the splash screen for all of your customers. The splash screen setup can be chosen via a Wizard type form, configured programmatically, or by manually editing the XML preferences file.

You can use the idea for this database to do more than add a Splash Screen. You can use very similar code to implement "About" in all your databases with the SET ABOUT command and much more. I've spoken with developers who are looking at using this for their Support and Help options as well.
